The image for this painting came to me during a time of worship. In my mind I could see Christ emerging from the heavens, moving toward us with His hand extended.
I wanted to capture not only the majesty of His coming, but the expression on His face—the tenderness, kindness, and overwhelming love of the Savior returning to His people.
I painted this during a difficult season when the world felt particularly uncertain. As I worked, I found myself thinking less about fear and more about the hope of seeing Him—the One we have prayed to, trusted, followed, and loved without yet seeing face to face.
His hand is extended toward us in this painting, just as I believe it is extended toward each of us now—in every season, every struggle, and every moment we choose to reach for Him.
He comes not as a stranger, but as the Savior who already knows us.
And perhaps when that day comes, what we will recognize most is His love.
