I painted this scene from the shores of the Pacific Northwest—the sea, distant islands, and the last warmth of the sun settling across the water.
And there, almost hidden within it, is Christ.
I wanted Him to be discovered rather than immediately seen, because that is so often how I experience Him. When we slow down and really look at this beautiful world, we begin to recognize His fingerprints everywhere.
In the light on the water. In the rhythm of the waves. In the grandeur of the sky and the quiet places of the earth.
Sometimes we simply need eyes willing to see.
He is there.
